High-quality and robust, our raw artisanal selvedge denim can be easily recognised by its red border. It is woven on traditional looms in Veneto, Italy. The indigo used for these jeans is 100% natural.
Désiré is a model reproducing the authentic work over-trousers of the 20th century, which were worn large over normal clothes and didn’t hinder movement. It has now been reinvented and can be worn with or without braces. This version is embellished with red topstitching.

“When working on these jeans, we are returning to the origins of historic denim, with the small strip at the edge of the fabric. We cut these jeans one by one, by hand, according to the company’s traditional know-how. We also apply our highest degrees of finish to these selvedge jeans from the Tailleur range, including double loops, bordering on fly edges and turned and folded pocket bottoms.
Before the first wash of selvedge jeans dyed with pure natural indigo, let them soak in a bath of cold water. This makes them less delicate during the first few washes and the jeans will stay magnificent.”

It was 125 years ago when Célestin Tuffery decided to offer workers ingenious and comfortable clothing, giving birth to French jeans. Robust over-trousers, practical dungarees, a protective jacket… This workwear of yesteryear has now been reborn and while it can still fulfil its primary function, it pays homage in style to the craftsmen, icons of French know-how, who once wore it.
“Some of our pieces have a first name, directly inspired by one of the characters who have marked the history of the Tuffery family.
These are the lives of people who gave birth to our clothes, such as Désiré.”
Bon vivant and entrepreneurial Désiré, Célestin’s brother, is a travelling salesman, wending his way among the winding roads of the Cévennes to supply jeans to all workers.
Guillaume C.
“ I preferred to wait a bit to give my opinion. After more than 50 washes of my jeans, it hasn’t change ”
