Head of the garment workshop
Clémentine Lemaître shares
her maintenance tips.
“Before being sold, all our products are washed in France without the addition of environmentally harmful products. The first time you put on your new jeans, they should feel a bit tight because our high-quality fabrics are a little stiff at first. They will relax over time and the less you wash your jeans, the more beautiful they will be in the long term.”

HISTORY
A LEGACY OF HANDIWORK
AND EXPERTISE
Some 125 years ago, Célestin Tuffery’s huge scissors cut the first fabric from Nîmes, giving birth to denim jeans. Working this fabric by hand, a fully-fledged discipline within tailoring, has been passed down from generation to generation in the workshop. Every day, our master tailors Jean-Jacques and Norbert, the third generation of the Tuffery family, continue to transmit the secrets of Célestin and Alphonse to a whole new generation of expert jeans tailors.
“Some of our pieces have a name directly drawn from the area that serves as a natural setting for our workshop. Located for 125 years in the heart of the Cévennes National Park, we create our clothes between the Cévennes valleys and the Grands Causses, which offer us daily inspiration.”
Augustin
Charming dandy Augustin, Célestin’s father, is always elegant as he strolls the streets of Florac.
“A beautiful story, savoir-faire, know-how and life skills. A beautiful project with real values and a passion that is felt by every word. Congratulations and thank you”
Depending on the washing and ironing conditions measurements may vary by a few millimetres.
The Atelier Tuffery + : Because each of our pieces is unique, each pair of trousers is delivered with the name of the master tailor who made it, as well as a small reel of thread to enable you to hem your jeans to your measurements.
Chargement...
At Atelier Tuffery, all of our materials are cut in the workshop and each piece is assembled by hand. This ensures that we create high-quality garments which meet our demanding standards, which have not changed in 125 years. We prioritise a carefully managed production flow for the well-being of our employees and to avoid waste. If the garment you order is not in stock, it will take us just a little bit of time to create it especially for you. Quality takes time so be patient, you won’t regret it.
