The Excellence of French Know-How

Paula is a retro dress in cotton and linen denim. Inspired by traditional workwear and given a new twist, the dress is notable for the bow at the waist, providing a feminine silhouette and ease of movement. It’s a total denim outfit that is comfortable and practical, reflected in the two large pockets that add a relaxed touch and a homage to work clothes of the past.

Clémentine Lemaître, workshop manager,
shares her opinions on
this linen fabric.

“The fabric used for our Pauline skirt provides a perfect balance between linen and cotton. It is coloured with a natural indigo using aerial oxidation and gives off an intense luminosity. Lightweight flax fibre is perfect for this type of clothing.

It’s a really comfortable garment that can be easily worn all year round.

Caring for linen is very easy. Like any jeans, it is important not to overload the drum of the washing machine in order to ensure a perfect mixing of your clothes and water.”

HISTORY

A LEGACY OF LOCAL AND ECO-FRIENDLY

Célestin Tuffery was already concerned with keeping things local 125 years ago. By choosing fabric from Nîmes near the Cévennes, he created denim jeans and at the same time underlined Atelier Tuffery’s continuing desire to work with historical and eco-friendly supply chains. Silk production, the reintroduction of hemp, wool from the Causses, linen, vegetable tanning and Aveyron leather are all choices that have been taken to boost the company’s everyday commitment to local and ethical history
